Olectra-BYD introduces 40 Electric buses in Hyderabad

Olectra-BYD introduced forty more Electric buses to the Hyderabad roads. With this launch Olectra- BYD becomes the first company to have more than 100 Electric buses plying on Indian roads. In total the company has 108 Electric buses deployed in Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.

Olectra-BWD is pioneering this shift to electric vehicles in public transport system. The company’s buses are successfully plying in challenging and diverse terrains be it congested cities like Pune and Mumbai steep slopes of Rohtang Pass in Himachal Pradesh or the rainy and slippery terrain of Kerala.

Introduction of these 40 Electric buses in Hyderabad means that Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has the largest fleet of electric vehicles in the country. This is also the first time in India when 12 m long buses have been deployed successfully for public transport.
