Tata Steel Posts Record Output

Tata Steel Limited set a new record for output in the Indian market for the financial year 2018-19, thanks to its 2018 acquisition of Bhushan Steel Limited. This result probably makes it India’s biggest Steel producer. Tata’s steel production saw a 35% rise to 16.7 9 million tonnes at the end of the financial year 2018-19 as Bhushan Steel added 4.2 million tonnes to the company’s output. Tata Steel has shifted its focus to India where market demand has grown due to the government’s emphasis on building new infrastructure. As a result of this policy the state run Steel Authority of India Limited also registered record output of 16.3 million tonnes at the end of the year. Steel production at Tata’s Europe division fell by 3.7 % to 10.3 million tonnes as per reports of the company
