Colours of Uzbekistan at DTF

“Ferghana Fantasy” a collection inspired by Uzbekistan was presented as the Grand Finale of  The Delhi Times Fashion Week on 7th April at Roseate House, Aerocity by celebrated fashion designer Ritu Beri. Beri is also the “Cultural Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India”.

“Ferghana Fantasy comes from the land of Ferghana, a region in Uzbekistan traditionally known for its ikat. All the ikats, in the collection, were recently brought from Uzbekistan. I combined Indian khadi and Uzbek ikat for this special collection” said Beri speaking to the press.

“Ferghana Fantasy proves how friendly people of India and Uzbekistan are, and how close culturally and emotionally they are to each other” said Ritu Beri who is also an advisor to Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC). 

Ritu Beri was recently appointed as a Cultural and Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan in India by the Ministry of Tourism of Uzbekistan. The appointment was officially announced on 15 March 2019. She became first Indian to be appointed to this position.
