Mizoram : A Tourist Destination

India’s Ministry of Tourism would be participating in the 26th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2019, to be held at Dubai from 28 April to 1 May, 2019.  

India’s stall at the event would have a theme of “365 Days Destination”. India aims to project itself as a year round multi-faceted tourist destination offering Culture, Adventure, Cuisine, MICE, Cruise, luxury, wildlife, Wellness and medical tourism to name just a few segments.

Around 20 participants from India representing the State Tourism Department of Kerala, Tour Operators, Air India, IRCTC, Travel Agents, Hoteliers/Resorts, Wellness Spas and Ayurveda Centres will be present in the India Pavilion to showcase their diverse tourism products and services. 

The Middle East region is an important market for India. India has witnessed a consistent growth of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTA) from this region, and India’s aims are to further accelerate the pace of growth rate over the next 3 years.

India as of now offers e-Visa facility to the nationals of 167 countries, and this facility has been extended Saudi nationals recently. E-Visa is seen as one of the reasons for the growth in Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTA).

The North Eastern region of India would be a focus area for tourism. Apart from consisting diverse Flora and Fauna the region is fast emerging as a prominent cruise destination as well.

The ATM is Middle East’s largest travel and tourism exhibition. This year’s event would include 400 stands from as many as 150 countries.  With expected visitor traffic of 40,000 the ATM 2019 will showcase over 2,500 exhibiting companies.
