Rs 181.39 cr Transferred Flood-hit Families in Bihar

Bihar government has transferred 181 crores 39 lakh as relief to over three lakh flood affected families through direct benefit transfer in their bank accounts. The amount of six thousand will reach the beneficiary accounts within the next 48 hours.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed officials to make people aware through different mediums of publicity so that all flood – hit families get their bank accounts opened to avail the benefits of gratuitous relief money.

Over 13 lakh families have been affected in the recent floods in 921 panchayats in 12 districts of the state. Total of over three lakh verified families were provided the gratuitous relief amount in the first phase. As of now the flood situation has started easing. Except Burhi Gandak, all other major rivers in the state, including Kamla Balan, Ganga, Bagmati  and Mahananda maintained a receding trend.
