Dengue Epidemic in Bangladesh

Bangladesh finds itself in the midst of a dengue epidemic as number of people affected with the mosquito borne disease has reached 25000.

The government is running against time as the number of cases are arising fast, the Bangladesh a government release stated that it has imported a total of 368200 NS 1 test kits between July 31st and August 3rd and increased the number of beds for dengue patients in government hospitals across the country. 

The Bangladesh government has confirmed 18 deaths occurring due to the dengue outbreak so far this year. A total of 15,359 people were reported to be infected by the end of July, this figure surpasses the entire number of dengue cases of 2018.
As per the health ministry a total of 10,148 dengue cases were reported last year with 26 of these resulting in death.
