Russia supported India on the issue of revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, it reiterated that Kashmir is an internal issue of India. Russian Ambassador to India, Nikolay Kudashev while addressing the media in New Delhi made it clear that Russia’s stance on Kashmir remains that all issues between India and Pakistan must be solved through dialogue.
He also added that differences between the two countries should be resolved in accordance with the Shimla Agreement and Lahore Declaration. Deputy Chief of the Russian Embassy, Roman Babushkin made it clear that Russia has no role to play in any India-Pakistan dispute, unless asked to mediation.
