Travel Advisory Lifted in J&K

Travel Advisory Lifted in J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir state home department has revoked the  security advisory asking them to curtail their visit to the Kashmir valley.  The advisory had been issued on August 2 this year just three days before the revocation of Articl 370 that gave autonomy to the state.

The latest advisory reads “the security advisory requesting tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir to curtail their visit in Kashmir valley….is hereby withdrawn.”

The authorities have also promised those desiring to visit to the state
all necessary assistance and support.  The J&K tourism department plans to substantially increase its promotional activities before the winter season sets in as the season witnesses high tourist footfall.

Promotions would be held in form of roadshows in the major metropolitan cities in the country and also some countries abroad. Advertising and hoardings are also set to come up in big numbers across the major airports of India.

The J&K tourism department is also proactively trying to woo tourists from major tourist states such as West Bengal.
Recently Waseem Raja the Deputy Director of Tourism Registration, J&K  attended the  35th conference of the Indian Association of Tour Operators which was held in Kolkata.

In his presentation at the conference he promoted J&K’s “lesser known off beat” destinations and projected J&K as a “tourist friendly zero crime destination”.
