Chairman Rasaily aspires to increase STDC’s revenue

New Chairman of Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation(STDC) Lukendra Rasaily, who has immense experience in the field of tourism has assumed office in Gangtok.

Already Rasaily has conducted  several meetings with STDC employees and had a meeting with Tourism Minister BS Panth last week. The stakeholders have been meeting him with their grievances.

He stated that opening of the borders can  be done only with stringent measures in place and highlighted the impact of Covid-19 on tourism in the state, he pointed out that more than 2 Lakh 50 thousand people depend on Tourism in Sikkim. 

However he cautioned that financial health of STDC is weak and needs to be improved. Regarding losses to the sector, he said nothing can be done to compensate the loss 
suffered during lock down.
